Membership of The Cottenham Park Allotments and Gardens Association (CPAGA) is open to all plot holders on the site and to local residents who may join as Garden Members. The majority of plot holders are members and there are some 30 Garden Members at present.

The Association is based in the John Gray Centre in the middle of the site where it runs an allotment shop on Sunday mornings and maintains the social area and the toilets. The committee of the Association, elected by its members at an Annual General Meeting in the Spring, is responsible for organising the Association's activities which include various social events during the year (a summary is given below). It also liaises with Merton Borough Council on all issues connected with the site.

The Allotment Shop

The Shop is open from 10.30am to 12.30pm every Sunday from the first Sunday in February to the first Sunday in December inclusive. There is a wide range of goods, from composts and fertilisers to gardening equipment and from herbicides and insecticides to bird food, all at highly competitive prices. As well as packeted seeds, we also sell seed potatoes, onion sets and shallots in Spring and onions sets, shallots and garlic in the Autumn.

Refreshments are provided in the social area of the Centre from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Sundays when the Shop is open. Those new to growing vegetables and fruit will find that advice is readily available over a cup of tea or coffee.

The CPAGA Year

Here are some of the times in the Association's year which you may wish to note :

January Annual membership subscriptions become due.
February The Allotment Shop reopens after the Winter break on the first Sunday in the month. Seed orders are available for collection. Seed potatoes, onion sets and shallots are on sale in the Shop.
May The Annual General Meeting of the Association is held.
September The Annual Show is held in early September.
October/November Autumn-sown seeds, onion sets, shallots and garlic are on sale in the Shop.
November Seed orders are due in by the end of the month.
December A Christmas Party is held on the first Sunday of the month which is also the last opening of the Shop before the Winter break.

Details of events organised by the Association are displayed on the two site Noticeboards.
